Electronic Components Industry update October-2025

In October, global manufacturing PMI showed continued fluctuations, highlighting a notable divergence in the economic performance across different countries and regions. While the United States maintained positive momentum, other major economies, including China, France, South Korea, and Japan, experienced a decline. Notably, the EU region halted its prolonged contraction, stabilizing after more than three years of continuous downturn. However, it struggled to achieve growth, reflecting ongoing weakness in demand.

In the first three quarters of 2025, China’s electronic information manufacturing industry demonstrated robust growth in production, with stable exports and steady gains in profitability. However, investment saw a slight decline. Overall, the industry maintained a solid and positive development trajectory.

According to the latest data from the SIA, global semiconductor market sales reached $69.47 billion in September, reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 25.1%. This marks the 17th consecutive month of YoY growth exceeding 17%, with the growth rate in the third quarter (Q3) significantly surpassing that of the second quarter (Q2).

Regionally, the Asia-Pacific and Americas continue to drive growth. The Americas market recorded a YoY growth of 30.6%, while the Chinese mainland saw a 15.0% increase. The Asia-Pacific market led the way with a 47.9% YoY growth. In contrast, sales in Japan and Europe saw declines, with Japan experiencing a -10.2% change and Europe achieving a modest 6.0% YoY growth.
